Europa, Europa

A film by Agnieszka Holland

Inspired by Sally Perel’s Memoires, “Europa, Europa” tells of a young Jewish man obliged to adopt communist ideology when he flees to the Soviet Union, and then Nazism when the Germans invade the orphanage where he has taken refuge. He suppresses his own identity, and, to save his life, even becomes the best pupil in a school for elite German youth.

With Sally Perel, Julie Delpy, René Hofschneider, Piotr Kozlowski, Michèle Gleizer, Marco Hofschneider
